Using an “About Me” page is one of the ways that you can make your blog more engaging for readers. But unfortunately, many bloggers have seen it as a waste of time and left them out of the to-do list.

There are numerous advantages of using an “About Me” page in your blog.

Firstly, it can make the purposes of your blog transparent. You should name your interests, income sources, objectives of this blog and more so that your readers will not find your blog shady.

Secondly, some bloggers prefer to write in a more impersonal style but for me, I like to incorporate a bit of humor, personality and emotion elements from time to time in blogging. An “About Me” page can establish a more personal connection with your readers. I’m certain that plenty of your readers will appreciate a little more information on the person they’re reading.

Thirdly, you can use “About Me” page to highlight certain key pages by propelling your readers deep within your site to your key blog posts. Perhaps there is an article that you are very proud of or there is a sponsor you want to highlight? Are there any useful and helpful blog posts you would like to highlight or maybe you want to “announce” that you are looking for sponsors?

Doing an “About Me” page is effortless and takes just a couple of minutes. All you need to do is to include some photos, a short introduction, contact details and any other relevant information. If your blog cannot create a custom “About Me” page, you can write a normal blog post on your blog titled ‘About (insert your name, or your blog’s name here)’. You might want to change the date of your post to an older one if possible. Then simply link to your own post from your sidebar or menu to where you want to place it.
